How to measure
- I measure my finger. Wrap a strip of paper or a non-stretch thread around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps and measure the length with a ruler. Make sure it also slides over the knuckle.
- I have a ring that fits. With a ruler, measure the inside of a ring you wear on the same finger, across the widest point, without the thickness of the metal.
Tips for an accurate size
- Fingers change during the day and with temperature: they shrink in the cold and swell in the heat. It is best to measure late in the day at a normal temperature.
- The ring must slide over the knuckle and sit securely at the base of the finger: if your knuckle is wider, take it into account.
- A wide band usually needs a slightly larger size, because it fits more snugly.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one: making a ring smaller is easier than making it larger.
