How to clean your jewelry at home

September is the month when most people return to school and work. For some, it is functionally like a new year, a time when you can set new goals to achieve. What better occasion to show off our jewels?

They are our most faithful allies to help us stand out on the most important occasions.

As we had anticipated in our article the sun, sand, sweat, and chlorine from the pool are enemies of your jewelry, so before wearing them again, it is necessary to take some precautions to maintain their original shine.

Your jewelry will need a thorough cleaning before returning to work or the gym. But, with a couple of simple yet effective steps, you can bring your jewels to their original splendor, ready to embellish your outfits.

The jewel cleaning steps

To clean a jewel brought to the sea and exposed to the sun, you will need a basin with warm water, a few drops of dish soap, and a toothbrush with very soft bristles.

Dry it using a clean cloth.

Leave the jewel in soapy water for about fifteen minutes to soften the dirt.

Rub gently with the toothbrush to remove the dust and dirt that has settled on it during use.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water and dry carefully.

That's it: like magic, your jewel will be spotless again!

When the jewelry is appropriately clean, take a good look at it and notice if any parts are damaged or worn. If you find some imperfections, contact your trusted jeweler, who will help restore it to its original splendor.

Please don't do it only in late Summer!

Maintain the brilliance of your precious things at least once a month by using solid polishing compounds for silver and gold like the ones shown in the photo; you can find them in most supermarket chains. Remember to always store the jewels separately from each other, preferably in their boxes, to avoid scratches and preserve their shine.

Biscioni Gioielli offers its cleaning services free of charge for all the items purchased in the store. Do not hesitate to contact us if you want to know more about our collections or other services.

We will welcome you to the Ponte Vecchio if you pass by Florence.

The Workshop

In a market-oriented foreign production, Biscioni Gioielli still crafts its jewels in its artisan workshop on Ponte Vecchio, faithful to its Italian excellence roots.
